Hari Menon is a Co-founder and CEO of leading online grocery store named bigbasket.com. Big basket is a India’s largest online grocery shopping store of Innovative Retail Concepts Private Limited having headquartered in Bengaluru, India. Along with Big basket he is also a co-Founder of Symphony Industrial A. He worked with many companies as a CEO such as Serus Corporation, Timeli and Tumri.

After completing his studies, He started his professional career I in 1990 by joining Consilium as a Software Engineer. He was part of his first company for 3 years. After that for another 3 three years he worked as Manager at Accenture. He worked at Aspect i2 Technologies as a Senior Director or product management for almost 1 year after that he acted as a product strategy and marketing at Aspect Development. He was Vise President of Corporate Strategy and Marketing at Bristlecone In from 2003 to 2004. This is company is founded by himself. As he wanted he finally started his journey as a entrepreneur in September 2004 along with some others. He founded a his start up named Tumri. He worked as a CEO there but unfortunately in 2012 company was acquired by Collective Media and then become a imp part of Adobe.

At the same time he along with Sudhakar, Vipul Parekh, Ramesh and Abhinay Choudhari founded “BigBasket” on October 2011. After this success of big basket they got $150 million as an investment in March 2019 from Mirae, Alibaba Group and CDC Group and so valuation of his company goes over US$1 billion. They acquired micro-delivery company DailyNinja in March, 2020. Recently in Feb 2021 TATA group acquired a 68% stake from BigBasket  which is worth of around ₹9,500 crore.

Before starting BigBasket Hari and his five friends started a “Fabmart”. This was a online store same as Amazon and Flipkart. During first year of this startup there were no transactions and so they could not generate enough revenue. So they need to close this. But they didn’t gave up they started “Fabmart” physical retail chain of a grocery store. We can say that it was physical version of Fabmart. This was Inda’s first online-to-offline retail store. They also merged with Trinethra which was also a grocery retail chain. They expanded Fabmart to 300 stores across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.
