Raj Kundra left his study at the age of 18 and moved to Dubai and then Nepal to start business of pashmina shawls. He sold shawls to many major fashion stores in Britain and through this he is able to made his first millions. He again shifted to Dubai in 2007 where he started Essential General Trading LLC which is company dealing with construction, precious metals, mining and green renewable energy projects. At that time he was also involved in Bollywood films production. In 2013, he was associated with Essential Sports and Media with that he was involved with production and distribution. Along with sports he was also associated with private fund trading in equity markets. He also invested in Satyug Gold, Super Fight League and also started a restaurant chain in Mumbai named Bastian Hospitality.

He was one of the promoters of television and online broadcast platform named Best Deal TV which is home shopping channel capitalising on celebrity endorsements. In this business his co-advertiser was famous Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. He is set to launch India’s first live streaming social media app named Jaldi Live under government of India’s startup India initiative. The App will allow to live stream their content.
