DMCA Copyright Policy
StarUnbox respects intellectual-property rights. This page explains how to report material you believe infringes your copyright and how to respond if material was removed by mistake.
Notice of Claimed Infringement
A copyright owner, or an agent authorized to act for one, may send a written notice containing all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed, or a representative list if one notice covers multiple works.
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material and enough information for us to locate it, including the exact StarUnbox page URL.
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
Where to Send a Notice
Submit your notice to the StarUnbox Copyright Team
Use our Contact form, select “Copyright / DMCA,” and enter “DMCA Takedown Notice” as the subject.
Incomplete notices may delay our response. Please attach or link only the information needed to evaluate the claim and do not send unnecessary sensitive personal data.
Our Response
After receiving a substantially complete notice, we may remove or restrict access to the identified material, contact the contributor or publisher, request clarification, or take other appropriate action. We may share the notice with the person responsible for the material or with services that document copyright requests.
Counter-Notification
If material you provided was removed or disabled because of mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification containing:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the removed material and its location before removal;
- a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed due to mistake or misidentification;
- your name, address and telephone number; and
- the jurisdiction and service-of-process consent required by applicable DMCA procedures.
If we receive a valid counter-notification, we may forward it to the original claimant. The material may be restored after the legally applicable waiting period unless the claimant informs us that court action has been filed.
Fair Use and Other Authorized Uses
Copyright law permits some uses without the owner's permission, including uses that may qualify as fair use. Before submitting a notice, consider whether the use is licensed, in the public domain or otherwise permitted by law.
Repeat Infringement and Abuse
Where appropriate, we may restrict contributors or users who repeatedly infringe copyright. We may also take action regarding fraudulent, abusive or materially misleading notices.
Other Intellectual-Property Concerns
This process is for copyright claims. Trademark, privacy, correction or general editorial concerns should be sent through our Contact page with a clear explanation and supporting information.
