Career
Sunil ChhetriĀ started his career as a professional footballer in 2002 at Mohun Bagan. After sometime he moved to JCT. Here he played 48 games and scored 21 goals. It is most goals for this team. In 2010 he joined Kansas City WizardsĀ for Major League Soccer. In this league he is the only third player from subcontinentĀ to go foreign. But his performance in this league was not long lastig so he returned to India and started playing in I-League. In this league he contribute for Mohun BaganĀ and Chirag United. After this tournament once again he has called for abroad. He joined Sporting Clube de PortugalĀ of Primeira LigaĀ where he is part of clubās reserve side. In Indian league he played for many big teams such as Churchill Brothers, Mumbai City, Bengaluru FCĀ and more.
After he selected in Indian national football team and become so popular in short time because of his playing skills. With the heklp of his skills and his leading ability team India able to won Nehru Cup in 2007, 2009, 2012 and SAFF Championship in 2011 and 2016. He is famous for his striking skills. He helped India to won 2008 AFC Asian Challenge Cup for the first time after qualified for the first time in 27 years. He is declared as AIFF Player for the ecoed six times in 2007, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018-19.
