Life Journey

Vikas Kumar did his schooling at Welham Boy’s School, Dehradun. Kumar did a 3-month acting workshop under the renowned theatre artist, Barry John. Kumar is a well-known dialogue coach in Bollywood. In an interview, when he was asked why he opted for his career as a dialect coach, he said “I will say it was God’s will. While I was auditioning for roles, most of the time I got rejected due to my looks. But the good thing was whoever saw my tapes always said that dialogue delivery is my strong point”.

His debut project as a dialect coach was Gulaal in 2009. Kumar has worked as a dialogue coach for Vidya Balan in Ishqiya, and Kalki Koechlin in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Lisa Haydon in The Shaukeens, and Aditya Roy Kapur in Fitoor.

Career

Kumar has also tried his hand at acting. His first television show was C.I.D in 1998 in which he portrayed the role of Senior Inspector Rajat. It is a crime detective series. His 2nd TV show was Khotey Sikkey in 2011 in which he portrayed the role of Senior Inspector Damodar Deshmukh. This is also a crime series. The group of 6 solves crime activities in Mumbai.

Kumar’s third TV show is Powder which broadcasted in 2010. He portrayed the role of Umesh Jagdale. This show is about the new addiction among youngsters-drugs. Vikas has also appeared in Hindi movies including Handover (2012), Prithipal Singh- A Story (2015), Ajji (2017), and Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran (2018). Kumar performed in the famous Netflix web-series, Aarya, in which he portrayed the role of ACP Khan in 2020.
