About Sumalatha

Sumalatha is an Indian actress and politician from Karnataka. She has appeared in more than 220 films in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi. Her most recognized role is that of Clara in the 1987 film Thoovanathumbikal directed by P. Padmarajan. The film was rated No. 8 by IBN Live in its list of the greatest Indian films of all time. She gained popularity in Malayalam cinema and then married political actor Kannada Ambareesh and has a son, Abhishek Ambaresh.

She married Ambareesh, an actor and politician from Kannada, on December 8, 1991. They have a son, Abhishek, born in 1993. She played with Ambareesh in such films as Aahuti, Avatara Purusha, Sri Manjunatha and Kallarali Hoovagi, who then won a national award. They would have met on the sets of a movie and she was attracted by her daring personality. In an interview with TV9 Kannada, she mentioned that she was very attracted by her rebellious attitude. It seems that she used to be very quiet and be alone on the plateaus; he encouraged her to be talkative and to mingle with the team and the people around her.
