Sitara Devi was born on 8 November 1920 in Kolkata, India. She died in 2014 there age was 94 Years. Her dad, Sukhadev Maharaj, was a Brahmin respectable man and a Vaishanavite researcher of Sanskrit, however she earned his job by instructing and playing out the Kathak move structure. Her mom was Matsya Kumari, who held an association with the illustrious group of Nepal.

He was born in Calcutta on the eve of a Diwali of the 1920s. His original name was Dhanalakshmi and in the house Dhanno. In childhood, they had to be deprived of parental love. Horrified due to the crooked face, the parents handed him over to a midwife who raised him until he was eight years old. It was only after this that Sitara Devi was able to see her parents. According to the tradition of that time, Sitara Devi got married at the age of eight. Her in-laws wanted her to take up the household but she wanted to attend school. Her marriage broke down when she insisted on going to school and was admitted to Kamachgarh High School. There he performed the dance on the spot and got a role in a dance drama based on the mythological story of Satyavan and Savitri, as well as the responsibility of teaching dance to his fellow artists. Sitara Devi has trained many Bollywood actresses in dance. Part of Sitara Devi’s personality is also directly related to the movie. He also acted in a few films in the era of Sarawak films. He had the status of a superstar at that time, but later he opted out of films for the sake of dance. Filmmaker and dance director Niranjan Sharma selected her on a three-month contract for Usha Haran and she started working as a dancer for Sagar Studios at the age of 12. In the early films, she played mainly minor roles and performed dances. His films include Shahar Ka Jadoo (1934), Judgment of Allah (1935), Nagina, Baghban, Watan (1938), Meri Aankhen (1939) Holi, Pagal, Swami (1941), Roti (1942), Chand (1944), Lekh (1949), Hustle (1950) and Mother India (1957) are prominent.
