Santosh Anand is a very well known Indian poet and lyricist who is popular since 1970. In his career he won the award for Best Lyricist in Filmfare Award two times (1975 and 1983). In 2016 he won the title of Yash Bharti Award. During his long career he has given many hit songs such as Mohabbat Hai Kya Kya, Megha Re Megha Re Mat Ja Ja Tu Pardesh, Ek Pyar Ka Nagma Hai, Zindagi Ki Na Tutte Ladhi Pyar Kari Dhukhi Do Clock. Currently he is old but his songs are still favorite of many peoples. Before some time he was appeared on the set of singing show Indian Idol.

In the year 1970, he made his film debut with “Purab Aur Paschim”. Kalyan Ji Anandji produced the music for this film. Especially he is famous for the song “Ek Pyar Ka Nagma” that he wrote in the film Shor in 1972. This is one of his most favorite song produced by Lakshmikant Pyarelal and sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Mukesh. In the year 1974 as a lyricist he worked in Roti, Kapda Aur Makan for which he got his Filmfare Award of his career that was for he song “Main Na Bhoolge”. In 1981, he write all songs for the film Kranti. Kranti was most successfully movie of that year. For the film named Pyaasa Sawan, he wrote the lyrics “Megha Re Megha” and “Tera Saath Hain Toh”. A few days later, he received the Filmfare Award for the song of the movie Prem Rog. In his whole career he wrote almost 109 songs for different 26 films. The songs were sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammad Aziz, Mahendra Kapoor, Kumar Shanu and Kavita Krishnamurthy. He also contribute in many films of bollywood superstar Manoj Kumar and showman Raj Kapoor.

Recently he came on the sets of Indian Idol 12 with his music partner Pyarelal. After seeing his current financial condition all the judges of the show desires to help him financially.
