Career

Sandhya Manoj started to learn dance in very early age. She learned classical dancing from Parvathi Narayana Swamy and performed her first Bharatnatyam dance Paalkadal Allaimelle. For the past 30 years, she has been performing classical dance. The first time she performed Bharatnatyam was in Kerala when she performed two pieces – “Navarasa” and “Dasha Maha Vidhya”. The day after she was married, she was shifted to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and she enrolled with Fine Arts Kuala Lumpur to learn Odissi. She has been completely dedicated to it since then. In the year of 2006 she and her colleagues from Malasiya came to India to learn Odissi and they all got trained by Ratikant Mohapatra and Durga Charan Ranbir. Sandhya has performed at numerous festivals both domestically and internationally. After training she performed Odissi in many programs. After that she started her dance theatre and with that they performed Swati, Thirunal Dashavatar Dashamavidhya, Prerna, Shakthi Praeleeyanam and many more.

In 1991 when she was just 21 years old she along with her husband opened the Mansa Yoga School, a yoga studio in SS 2, Petalling Jaya. Her Yoga school is very popular in Malaysia.
