Ravi Teja is a well-known Indian film actor. His real name is Ravi Shankar Raju Bhupatiraju. He is most active and works for Telugu cinema. Ravi Teja is famous for his comic dialogue, he is widely regarded as one of the most popular and best-paid actors in Telugu cinema, appearing in more than sixty films. He also won numerous awards for his work in the film industry including the Nandi Special Jury Award and the state Nandi Award for the best actor.

Ravi Teja was born in a Hindu family on 26 January 1968 in Jaggampeta, Andhra Pradesh, India. His father’s name is Raj Gopal Raju, a pharmacist and his mother’s name is Rajya Lakshmi Bhupatiraju, a housewife. Ravi is the eldest of three sons, the others being Bharath (who died on 24 June 2017, in a car accident) and Raghu, who are also actors. He spent most of her childhood in northern India because her father shifted very often because of his job. Ravi Teja is married to Kalyani Teja on 26 May 2002. The couple is blessed with a son Mahadhan Bhupatiraju and a daughter Mokshadha Bhupatiraju.

Ravi Teja studied in different cities including Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bhopal. He completed his schooling at N.S.M. Vijayawada Public School. Later, he got his degree in Bachelor of Arts from Siddhartha Degree College, Vijayawada. In the year 1988, Teja went to Chennai to start his acting career.

Ravi Teja started his career as a supporting artist in Karthavyam in 1990. He also worked as an assistant director for many Bollywood and Telugu movies and consequently played small roles in the movies Chaitanya (1991), Aaj Ka Goonda Raj (1992), Allari Priyudu (1993), Ninne Pelladata (1996), and Sindhooram (1997).

Career

Ravi Teja was cast in a leading role by Srinu Vaitla for Nee Kosam in 1999. Following this, he apeared in many significant roles such as Chiranjeevi’s Annayya, Krishna Vamsi’s Samudram, and Budget Padmanabham. Teja also did lead roles in multi-starrer movies including Tirumala Tirupathi Venkatesa, Kshemanga Velli Labanga Randi, Sakuntumba Sapari Vare Sametham, and Ammayi Kosam.

In the year 2001, Teja’s connection with Puri Jagannadh began when he appointed Ravi as the lead actor in Itlu Sravani Subramanyam. The film was profitable and got Ravi Teja’s credibility as a solo lead actor. His next movie Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru in 2002, directed by Vamsy and co-starring Kalyani was released. He again worked with director Puri Jagannadh for Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi in the year 2003. The movie co-starring Asin became a superhit.

In the year 2004, Ravi co-starred in Venky, which was directed by Srinu Vaitla. In the next year, his work included Bhadra directed by Boyapati Srinu, and Bhageeratha, directed by Rasool Ellore. Teja also worked in the crime movie Shock, which was produced by Ram Gopal Varma and directed by Harish Shankar.

His first release in 2011 was Mirapakay which was directed by Harish Shankar. Then he appeared in Ram Gopal Varma’s Dongala Mutha and made a cameo role in Katha Screenplay Darshakatvam Appalaraju, which was also directed by Ram Gopal Varma. In the next year, he appeared in Gunasekhar’s Nippu. Then he stared in Siva’s Daruvu and in Puri Jagannadh’s Devudu Chesina Manushulu. In 2012, Parasuram’s Sarocharu Rediff.com wrote “Ravi Teja is in a different avatar, a more subdued one”.

In the year 2015, Ravi Teja appeared in Kick 2, which was produced by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram and directed by Surender Reddy. Later, Taja did a film titled Bengal Tiger directed by Sampath Nandi. Still, Ravi Teja continuously giving superhit films from the South Indian Film Industry.
