Ranveer Singh was born in a Sindhi-Sikh family on 6 July 1985 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His father’s name is Jugjeet Singh Bhavnani, a businessman and His mother’s name is Anju Bhavnani. Ranveer Singh has an elder sister Ritika Bhavnani. He is the maternal cousin of Indian film producer Rhea Kapoor and actress Sonam Kapoor.

While he was in school, he had an affair with Dharmendra and Hema Malini’s daughter Ahana Deol. After that, he was dating the famous actress Anushka Sharma for a short period. Ranveer Starting starts dating his co-star Deepika Padukone after there film Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, in August 2012. Life Journey

Ranveer Singh completed his schooling at Learners’ Academy, Mumbai, and then, completed his graduation in Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University, Bloomington. During his school days, he took part in numerous plays, debates, and many other competitions.

While Ranveer was in University, he joined the theatre. After completing studies, he returned to Mumbai where he used to work as a Copywriter in different advertising agencies like J. Walter Thompson, O&M, etc. Later, he left the job and started working as an assistant director but again he left it to fulfill his dream of becoming an actor.

Ranveer Singh started his acting career in 2010 by playing the lead role of Bittoo Sharma, opposite Anushka Sharma in the Bollywood film Band Baaja Baaraat. Controversies

• In 2012, Ranveer Singh was the first time involved in the controversy when he tweeted on his Twitter account after watching the film Ek Tha Tiger, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif that “Ek Tha Tiger felt absolute bore bt (sic) last 15 min was magical. nice stunt and action @beingsalmankhan pra.” He also tweeted “While I was passing through a multiplex people after seeing Ek Tha Tiger was asking for TIGER BAAM.” After that tweet, he faced lots of criticism from the Indian cinema.
• In 2015, an FIR was lodged against him for using obscene words in public during the roast comedy show MB Knockout.
• While he was shooting the film Dil Dhadakne Do (2015) along with Priyanka Chopra, he kissed her in front of people, which she did not like at all. She later taunted him while promoting this film for his overenthusiastic acting after which Ranveer said that he would never work with her again.

Career

In 2011, he starred in Ladies vs Ricky Bahl with the likes of Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra, Aditi Sharma, and Dipannita Sharma. He played the role of a conman in the film. Again, the reaction was the same from the audiences as well as critics.

Later, in 2013, he appeared in Bombay Talkies, The same year, he starred in Lootera alongside Sonakshi Sinha. Critics acclaimed the movie, however, it didn’t perform well at the box office.

After appearing in three movies in 2013, Ranveer starred in Goliyon ki Rasleela Ram-Leela along with Deepika Padukone. He played the role of a Gujarati boy in the movie which was based on the character of Romeo from William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

The very next year, he appeared in Gunday along with the stars like Priyanka Chopra, Irrfan Khan, and Arjun Kapoor. Later, Singh appeared in a cameo in Finding Fanny. Also, in the same year, he starred in Kill Dill along with Ali Zafar and Parineeti Chopra.

In 2018, Ranveer starred in Padmaavat along with Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. It was his third collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani. The movie is basically based on Malik Jayasi’s poem Padmaavat in which he played the role of Alauddin Khilji.

An interesting fact about Singh regarding the movie is that he isolated himself in a room for 3 weeks for the preparation of the character’s role. Later, he made a special appearance in Teefa in Trouble. In the same year, Singh starred in Rohit Shetty’s Simmba with Sara Ali Khan.

In the year 2019, Singh starred in Gully Boy opposite Alia Bhatt. The story of the movie is based on the lives of street rappers Naezy and Divine. He played the role of Murad Ahmed in the movie who lives in the slums of Mumbai and wants to be a rapper. And, how he achieved his goal is the plot of the movie. He lent his voice for some songs in the film. The film was a commercial hit at the box office. Moreover, the movie won 13 awards at the 65th Filmfare Awards and Ranveer won the Best Actor award.

Ranveer’s upcoming movies are 83 (Biopic of cricketer Kapil Dev), Sooryavanshi, and Jayeshbhai Jordaar. All his upcoming films may release in next year.
