She moved to New Delhi in grade 10 and graduated from Delhi University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Delhi’s Dyal Singh College. She chose chemistry because her father is a businessman who specializes in chemistry, while her mother is a housewife. She learned Kathak for 6 years and took acting lessons with Kishore.
