Early Life

Partha Barua was born in Chittagong, at the end 1960s, on May 3. He was brought up in the CDA colony, Mehedibag, Chittagong, since he was only 3. Partha’s mother, Ava Barua, was a school teacher of Bagmoniram S.K City Corporation School. His father Bimal Kanti Barua served in CDA. He started learning music at home from a music teacher. Later, he got admitted to Arzyo Sangha Sangeet Academy to learn music from Ustad Nirudbaran Barua when he was a school-going student; he regularly performed in school programs.

Career Info

His fascination was for musical instruments. He loved to play musical instruments such as the guitar and the keyboard. It was 1987 when he formed a band team named Message for the first time. In 1989, he joined the oldest Bangladeshi celebrated musical band team Souls. There was a crisis of vocal after Tapan Chowdhury’s leave from “Souls.” Then he got the chance to sing in his place.

Music Career

Partha’s musical talent became widespread when he used to perform for Sangskritik Chattro Sangha at Chittagong University.  After joining Souls, his popularity soared higher and higher. Some of his released albums brought him further into the limelight. He led the band Souls to release their sixth album entitled Aj Din Katuk Gaane, which included some popular songs ‘Keno Ei Nisshongota,’ ‘Bestota’ and ‘Chaaer Cup-e.’

In addition to having a bright singing career, he acted in Bangladeshi movies and dramas. As an actor, too, he attained much popularity. He appeared as an actor in a popular TV drama in Bangladesh FnF (2010) in 2010. Some of his TV dramas that were admired most are FnF (2010), A journey by love, Cinema, and P, O Box. Partha also acted in a cinema named Mirror Game (2016) in 2016, a psychological thriller movie directed by Amitabh Reza.
