Naga Chaitanya Akkineni is a well-known Indian actor and model. He is most active in the Telugu film industry. He is also famous for being the son of popular actor Akkineni Nagarjuna. Chaitanya made his film debut with Josh in the year 2009.

Naga Chaitanya was born on 3 November 1986 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He was born to superstar actor Akkineni Nagarjuna and actress Daggubati Lakshmi. He has a brother named Akhil Akkineni. Naga Chaitanya has five cousins include Rana Daggubati and Abhiram Daggubati. Daggubati Suresh Babu (Film Producer), Actor Daggubati Venkatesh, and Akkineni Venkat (Film Producer) are his uncle. He recently married his longtime actress girlfriend Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

Life Journey

Naga Chaitanya completed his primary education at PSBB School, Chennai. He started playing the guitar and drums from a very young age and often played them during his school days. Later he went to Trinity College, London to complete a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

Initially, he was not interested in acting but changed his mind eventually, and to hone his acting skills, he first enrolled at an acting school in Mumbai and then underwent acting classes in Hollywood Studios, California. He was spotted while he was present with his father at the music launch of his father’s film, King. He finally made his acting debut with Vasu Varma’s Telugu film titled Josh in the year 2009.

Chaitanya appeared as the lead role in the romantic drama film ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’, playing the role of a Hindu Telugu assistant director named ‘Karthik’ in the year 2010. This film was directed by Gautham Menon and was together made in Tamil as ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa’ and in Hindi as ‘Ek Dewaana Tha.’ In the same year, he did ‘100% Love’ movie and played the role of a studious college kid named ‘Balu Mahendra.’

He appeared in two movies in 2011, an action-comedy named movies ‘Dhada’, playing the role of ‘Vishwa’, and a crime thriller film ‘Bejawada’, playing the role of Shiva Krishna.’ In the next of a couple of years, Chaitanya appeared in Tadakha as Karthik, Manam as dual role Nagarjuna and Radha Mohan, Autonagar Surya, playing the role o Surya, Oka Laila Kosam as Karthik, Dohchay as Chandu, Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini and Premam as the role of Vikram Vatsalya

He also did an action-thriller film named ‘Yuddham Sharanam’, with the director Krishna Marimuthu. His next film was ‘Shailaja Reddy Alludu’, which was directed by Maruthi Dasari. In the years 2019, Chaitanya apeared as ‘Poorna Chandra Rao’ in the film ‘Majili’, which was directed by Shiva Nirvana.
