About Meenakshi Seshadri

Meenakshi Seshadri is an Indian actress, model and dancer born on November 16, 1963 and appearing mainly in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films. She won the Eve’s Weekly Miss India contest in 1981 at age 17.

Seshadri made his film debut in Painter Babu (1983) and was widely recognized by the public with the movie Hero (1983), followed by several films in the 1980s and 1990s After the release of her film Ghatak, she left the film industry to raise her children and resides in the United States, with her husband and children. She has been partially active in the United States, where she directs her dance school “Cherish Dance School”. Recently, a documentary on his life entitled Meenakshi Accept Her Wings was also made.

Meenakshi Seshadri was born into a Tamil family in Sindri, Jharkhand. She is trained in four forms of Indian classical dance, namely Bharata Natyam, Kuchipudi, Kathak and Odissi. She studied dance with Vempati Chinna Satyam and Jaya Rama Rao. She won the Eve’s Weekly Miss India contest in 1981 at the age of 17. She represented India at Miss International 1981 in Tokyo, Japan, but did not register.
