Kannur Lokesh Rahul commonly known as KL Rahul is an Indian Cricketer who was born in Mangalore City of Karnataka, India. KL Rahul started playing cricket at an age of 10. At age of 12, he used to play for Bangalore United Cricket Club and Mangalore Cricket Club. Rahul’s first-class debut came in the 2010-11 Ranji Trophy season. He has also played for India in the 2010 Under-19 ICC Cricket World Cup. Rahul made his national debut for India in 2014.

Career
- KL Rahul started playing cricket in his childhood and at an age of 12 he started playing club cricket.
- He used to play for Bangalore United Cricket Club and Mangalore Cricket Club.
- He plays for Karnataka in Indian Domestic Cricket and made his first-class debut for Karnataka in 2010-11 Ranji Trophy season.
- Rahul was also selected to play in 2010 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup and scored a total of 143 runs in that tournament.
- In the final of 2014-15 Duleep Trophy which was between South Zone and Central Zone, Rahul scored century in both the innings playing for South Zone. Rahul scored 185 and 130 in both the inning in that match and was awarded Man Of The Match in the finals.
- On seeing his Domestic form, Rahul was selected for National Team for Test Squad against Australia in 2014.
- In his second test match against Australia, Rahul scored his maiden test century. In 2016 KL made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe and scored a century in his debut match.
- Rahul is the first Indian Batsman to score a ODI century on his debut match.
- He also made his T20 international debut in the same tour and played his first international T20 match against Zimbabwe on 18th June 2016.
- Rahul was also selected in India’s squad in 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup and scored his maiden World Cup century against Sri Lanka in that tournament.
- He is currently the third Indian batsman to score centuries in all three formats of international cricket.
IPL Career
- KL Rahul made his IPL debut in 2013 for Royal Challengers Bangalore and was signed as a Wicket-keeper batsman by RCB.
- Then ahead of 2014 IPL season, KL was signedS by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL auction for a sum of INR 1 Crores. Rahul remained with SRH team till 2015 IPL season.
- Then in 2016 IPL season Rahul was again bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise and scored 397 runs that season from the 14 matches he played.
- Due to his shoulder injury, Rahul missed the 2017 IPL season. But in 2018 IPL Season, he bounced back with his excellent form.
- Rahul was bought by Kings XI Punjab for a sum of INR 11 Crores and smashed a half century in 14 balls in the first match of KXIP team in 2018.
- He was then retained by KXIP for 2019 IPL season and scored his maiden IPL century in 2019 against Mumbai Indians.
- Rahul was also named as the captain of KXIP team for the 2020 IPL season.
