He moved to Dhaka just after his M.Com final exam in pursuing build up a career as a film director, Kazi didn’t wait for the result. Hayat got a chance to work as an assistant director with some legend director that was time. Actually, he learned basic tricks from these directors.

Kazi Hayat began the journey as an assistant director in 1974. In 1976, he worked in the movie ‘Simana Periye’ with famous director Alamgir Kabir. Hayat made his mainstream directorial debut with the movie ‘The Father’ in 1989 where Bulbul Ahmed and Shuchorita acted. The famous director already has made more than fifty movies including several blockbuster movies. In 1980, he worked in the movie ‘Didar Ali’.
