Jason Bateman is an American actor who became remarkable as a youngster actor during the 1980s. He first showed his acting prowess playing the character of ‘Derek Taylor’ in the sitcom television series ‘Silver Spoons.’ He then settled the reappearing role of ‘David Hogan’ in the series ‘Valerie,’ which was renamed as ‘The Hogan Family.’ Following the conclusion of ‘The Hogan Family,’ he settled characters in ineffective sitcoms such as, ‘Simon, George and Leo,’ Chicago Sons,’ and ‘Some of My Best Friends.’ After performing a supporting character in the romantic comedy film ‘The Sweetest Thing,’ he was extended the lead role in the sitcom ‘Arrested Development.

Bateman was born on January 14, 1969, in Rye, New York, USA. He was born to Kent Bateman, an actor, director, and writer, and Elizabeth, a former flight attendant. His father is also the initiator of a repertory stage in Hollywood.

Starting out as an actor while in his early young years, Jason Bateman has raised up to become one of today’s leading comedic actors. He comes from a show business family. His father Kent is a producer and sister Justine is an actress. Approximately at the age of 10, Bateman began to work professionally. He soon initiated to land work in commercials.

In 2013 Jason and Amanda settled $3 million for a home in Beverly Hills. The home was the longtime house of actor Ernest Borgnine. They proceeded to perform a huge repair on the property. In 2018 the bought the property next door for a bit under $2 million.

  • Bateman made his television debut in 1981 with a recurring role on Little House on the Prairie. In the popular series based on the books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, he played the adopted son of pioneers Charles and Caroline Ingalls.
  • Bateman first showed his comedic talents in the popular sitcom Silver Spoons, starring Rick Schroder, in 1982. In the series, Bateman played Schroder’s scheming school friend. His boy-next-door good looks and sense of humor made him very popular with younger audiences, especially teenaged girls.
  • Bateman moved on to the short-lived TV comedy It’s Your Move, playing yet another scheming teen. He soon landed a supporting role on another family comedy with Valerie Harper of The Mary Tyler Moore Show fame, playing one of Harper’s three sons.
