Guru Randhawa is a well-known Indian singer, songwriter, and model. His real name is Gursharanjot Randhawa. Guru mostly appeared in Panjabi albums or songs. Life Journey

Guru Randhawa aspired to be a singer from a very young age and often used to participate in various singing competitions in his school days. Initially, Guru studied music by watching famous singers on the TV. Although he had a deep concern for music, Guru gave his initial inclination to his study. He did his Masters in Business Administration from IIPM ( Indian Institute of Planning and Management), New Delhi.

After completing his post-graduation, Guru started his career in music by giving stage performances at various events. In 2012, he began his career as a singer and a songwriter with the song “Same Girl”. Subsequently, Guru released the track “Chhad Gayi,” which got a good response from the audience.

Career

In the year 2013, Guru launched his first album Page One, and released 3 songs including “Dardan Nu”, “I Like You” and “Southall” from the album. Randhawa launched several songs but none of them became much famous to take Guru on heights. The year 2014 was also not special for Guru.

Bohemia requested T-Series to launch him on their channel, then both collaborated together in the song “Patola”. This song is considered as the turning period in his life as it was one of the most famous songs by Guru and viewed more than 140 Million views on the YouTube platform. Patola also got the award for the best Punjabi Duo.

In 2016, Randhawa gave four blockbuster songs. He released “Yaar Mod Do” with Millind Gaba again on the label T-Series in January. The motive of the project was to show true friendship and it did and collected nearly 196 million YouTube views. In the same year, he released the super hit song “Tu Meri Rani” on his own YouTube channel. This song also featured the rapper, Haji Springer. One of his most popular songs, “Suit” was released in 2016. It was Guru’s second collaboration with Arjun.

In the year 2017, Guru published an emotional track named “Taare”. In the same year, his 2 tracks published in Bollywood movies. His early released track “Tu Meri Rani” was recreated in the Hindi film Tumhari Sulu and an original track named “Lagdi Hai Thaai” was also published in the movie Simran in collaboration with Jonita Gandhi.

His song “Lahore” won Track of the Year at the Brit Asia TV Music Awards, in 2018, where Guru also won Best Male Act. His first international collaboration was “Slowly Slowly” featuring Pitbull, released on 19 April 2019. Guru became a producer with Punjabi language film Tara Mira starring Ranjit Bawa and Nazia Hussan in 2019, which was directed by Rajiev Dhingra. In the next year, He made his second international collaboration “Surma Surma” with British artist Jay Sean.
