Captain Varun Singh was born and raised in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, India. Since early age he is very hard working and loves to help everyone. He was attached towards army and air force since childhood. After getting primary and higher study from some private schools in UP he joined airforce trining centre and successfully completed his training. He successfully cleared NDA in the very first attempt. He belongs to army family also his brother is serving in Indian Navy. The Defence Services Staff College posted Varun as group captain recently. Recently on Independence Day 2021 he awarded with Shaurya Chakra because of successfully saving his LCA Tejas fighter in emergency on the date of October 12, 2020. Varun, who was a wing commander at the time, saved the LCA from crashing during a sortie on which the cockpit pressurization failed without warning. Recently he is the timeline because of helicopter crash on 8 December 2021 ended with Varun Singh as the only one to survive. Among those killed in this accident were CDS Bipin Rawat and his wife.
