Bappa Majumder took birth on February 5, 1972, in Dhaka. His father, Ustad Bareen Majumdar, and mother Ila Mazumdar, both were singers. That’s why Bappa had to receive no formal learning of music outside his family. His parents were his initial teachers. For five years, he has been a student of Monihar Sangeet Academy, founded by his father. There he learned classical music. According to Bappa, his knowledge of classical music is inadequate, and for this reason, he has not concentrated on it later.
