Avani Lekhara is a very talented young rifle shooter and an Indian Paralympian from Rajasthan. Recently she became talk of the country after winning the gold medal in 10m Air rifle in Tokyo Paralympics 2020. she become the first ever Indian woman to win Gold Medal in Paralympic history. Along with that she also won so many awards and titles for 10m air rifle shooting and secured world number 5 ranks in her category. Career

After meting with an accident at the age of 11 she has the complete paraplegia. After that for some time she didn’t understand what to do. In this tough time her father motivated and encouraged her to join sports. So she started to her training in archery but as per her passion she moved to the shooting field. She initially started shooting in 2015 by inspired of former Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra. She already won many national and international titles in shooting.

She participated in 2018 Asian Para Games but couldn’t win but she is able to impress everyone with her performance. She is supported by Foundation named GoSports in Para Champions Programme. Recently she got major achievement in Tokyo Paralympics. She became internet sensation after winning gold madel in Tokyo Paralympics 2020 with the score of 249.6 points in the final event. With this she set a Paralympic record and tied the world record. Currently she has the world number 5 in 10m air rifle shooting. ^[2]IMDB
