Life Journey

Vidyut’s father was an army officer and hence, he traveled a lot during his childhood due to his father’s regular transfers. At the tender age of 3, he started his martial arts training (Kalaripayattu) in an ashram in Palakkad, Kerala. He has a Degree in Martial Arts.

Till the age of 13, he attended Ashram in Palakkad, Kerala and the rest of his schooling is from the Army Public School, Dagshai, Himachal Pradesh. He started his acting career, in 2011, with the Bollywood movie ‘Force’ (a remake of the Tamil film ‘Kaaka Kaaka’) for which he won the Filmfare Award in the categories of ‘Best Male Debut’ and Most Promising Debut for 2012′.

Career

Post starting his career with a negative role in Force, Vidyut caught various negative roles in several action films later. 2011 witnessed Vidyut featuring in negative characters in the Telugu-language films Shakti and Oosaravelli, both starring NTR. In the year 2012, he made his debut in Tamil cinema with Billa II, as the antagonist along with Ajith Kumar which gained him significant appreciation. In the following year, Jammwal played the antagonist in Thuppakki opposite actor Vijay, which became a blockbuster.

Jammwal’s next Hindi-language film Commando saw him playing the protagonist and performing real-world combat-based action without the support of stuntmen. After the success of Commando, Jammwal played a sharpshooter cop in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Bullett Raja. In the year 2014, he performed a supporting positive role in the Tamil-language film Anjaan, opposite Suriya. In the year 2017, he starred in Commando 2, the sequence to Commando, which became a box office hit. The film Baadshaho was his next release that year in which he played Army Officer Major Seher Singh, the movie made average business worldwide.

In the year 2019, Vidyut Jammwal starred in American director Chuck Russell’s first Bollywood film Junglee and Commando 3. Later, he returns to the Commando series and became the most successful film in the franchise. In the next year, Jammwal appeared in an action thriller Khuda Haafiz which was inspired by real-life events.
