Pulkit Samrat is a well-known Indian film on-screen actor, TV actor, and model. He is famously known for starring as Lakshya Virani in the popular show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Pulkit made his Bollywood debut movie “Bittoo Boss” which was released in 2012.

Pulkit Samrat was born in a Punjabi Hindu family on 29 December 1983 in Punjab. His father’s name is Sunil Samrat, and his mother’s name is Deepa Samrat. He has a brother Ullas Samrat. On 3 November 2014, he married his long-time girlfriend Shweta Rohira. She is a rakhi-sister to actor Salman Khan. The duo divorced in November 2015. Then, Pulkit dated Yami Gautam for about 2 years, then he came up in a relationship with Kriti Kharbanda his co-star in the film Pagalpanti.

Life Journey

Pulkit Samrat went to Manav Sthali School and completed his schooling at Montfort Senior Secondary School, Ashok Vihar, Delhi. Then, he joined an advertising course at Apeejay Institute of Design, Delhi. However, after studying for  5 months, he got a modeling assignment. Thereafter Samrat quit his studies and moved to Mumbai, where he joined an acting program run by Kishore Namit Kapoor.

Pulkit made his television debut by portraying the role of Lakshya Virani in the long-running TV show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi by Balaji Telefilms in 2006, which got his first recognition, but he quit the show in 2007. In the year 2011, he appeared as the lead in choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant‘s musical theatrical Taj Express.

Career

In 2012, Pulkit’s performance in Bittoo Boss proposed his second movie Fukrey, directed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The movie was released in June 2013 to high audits and later turned into a sleeper hit. In 2014, Pulkit showed up in a supporting role in Jai Ho as a police investigator. In the same year, he appeared as the lead actor in the film O Teri, produced by Atul Agnihotri, inverse Bilal Amrohi and Sarah Jane Dias.

His first movie of 2015 was Arbaaz Khan’s Dolly Ki Doli, alongside Sonam Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao. In the next year, Pulkit appeared in Divya Khosla Kumar’s Sanam Re opposite Yami Gautam. The film was a flop at the box office. That year, he again combined with Yami Gautam for the movie Junooniyat. The movie was a Box office hit. In the year 2017, he returned with the 2nd part of Fukrey titled Fukrey Returns.
